[Vietnam]: Vietnamese industry to adopt new raw cashew standard - World's first unique RCN Standard TCVN 12380:2018 officially launched

HCMC -  Vietnamese Cashew Association (Vinacas) has announced that it will adopt the raw cashew nut (RCN) standard launched by Vietnam’s government in December 2018.

Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS) has just informed all Vietnamese and worldwide cashew processors, importers and exporters, worldwide cashew organizations, units and partners.Phytosanitary and quality control inspection units that the 1st edition of Vietnamese Standard TCVN 12380:2018: Raw cashew nut (RCN) - Technical requirements has been officially promulgated in accordance with the Decision No. 4146/QD-BKHCN dated December 28, 2018 by the Honourable Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam.

In view of the importance of the above-said standard as the basis for quality inspection, grading, testing, disputes settlement of imported raw cashew nut cargoes, with the aim towards the mutual benefits of all cashew stakeholders and protecting the cashew industry brand names, Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS) requests your attention in studying and implementing the above-said standard as soon as possible.

Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS) requests your acceptance of supplementing the following contractual terms and conditions in regards to quality inspection or quality disputes settlements in the RCN sales and purchase contract: “in accordance with the Vietnamese Standards TCVN 12380:2018: Raw cashew nut – Technical requirements”.
