These difficulties, which can be explained by a number of reasons, have enormous consequences for producers, who remain the most vulnerable link in the depreciation of the market value of cashew nuts which, since the 2017-2018 season, has led to a slump in this crop.

Faced with this situation, the National Agricultural Trade Union for Progress for Côte d'Ivoire (SYNAP-CI) is constantly drawing the attention of the authorities in charge of the management of this sector in particular, the Council of Cotton and of the Cashew nut.
Unfortunately, the damage has already been done, as its president, Moussa Koné, told KOACI.
Indeed, many exporters and traders of cashew nut cashew nuts have, through unsavory acts undermined the marketing process, through derisory prices paid to producers.
Among those, figure Mr. JEYA-CHANDRA SEKAR, Manager of TANDEM DE TIENINGBOU (Regin Export) whose warehouse is located in the port area of Abidjan which, according to the information in our possessions was stopped Friday, June 14, 2019 by the search brigade of the national gendarmerie.What is it about ?
In fact, according to the complainants, Koné Brahima (SOCAYE), Koné Abdoulaye (SOCAYE) and Cissé Oumar (COOPA BENI), all three (03) heads of agricultural cooperatives delivered a total of 2,378,983 metric tons of Cashew nuts search cashew nuts with a market value of 500 400 000 F CFA to the sieur JEYA-CHANDRA SEKAR at 590 per kilogram. Unfortunately, things will not happen as planned. Thus, instead of the payment of the initial amount, the exporter decides to propose a new price of 525 F CFA / Kg and, after several weeks, he proposes another price of 300 F CFA / kg to his suppliers, advancing fallacious arguments. Producers through their respective cooperatives refuse this news that is akin to blackmail.
After several days of negotiations, the heads of different cooperatives agree to receive the proposal of Mr. JEYA-CHANDRA SEKAR, pending to bring the case before the competent courts.
Once again, the exporter will not honor his commitment and will only pay part of the money owed to cashew farmers and hurriedly leaves Côte d'Ivoire, via Ghana. After a time of resort, the sieur JEYA-CHANDRA SEKAR returns on his steps in Ivory Coast but, this time he decides to buy the cashew
nuts cashew nuts with a new company with the agreement of a new bank.
This is how he was approached by the producers who were victims of his bad faith who had to file a complaint against him for fraud, breach of trust and false and use of forgery. Quite the contrary, since his arrest the sieur JEYA-CHANDRA SEKAR continues to taunt his victims, cashew nuts cashew nuts claiming that he is the protégé of a certain prosecutor who allegedly committed him 03 lawyers for his defense and no union can frighten him.
