[Senegal]: COSEC meets Senegalese exporters based in Dubai

The Senegalese Council of Chargers (CO.SE.C.) met the Senegalese based in Dubai at Landmark Hotel, in the presence of Ibrahima Sory Sylla, Ambassador of Senegal in the UAE, Abdoulaye Thiam, Technical Director of COSEC, Mademba Yade, Malick Sané and various other personalities very involved in economic life in the United Arab Emirates.

The Senegalese Council of Chargers (CO.SE.C.) met the Senegalese based in Dubai at Landmark Hotel, in the presence of Ibrahima Sory Sylla, Ambassador of Senegal in the UAE, Abdoulaye Thiam, Technical Director of COSEC, Mademba Yade, Malick Sané and various other personalities very involved in economic life in the United Arab Emirates. 

This meeting was preceded by a visit to several warehouses used by the Senegalese, to better understand the concerns of the latter. 

During this visit, the representatives of the COSEC explained to the various structures present on the spot, the new web platform of the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note or CGS. This structure, entirely designed by the COSEC computer engineers, has been deployed in all maritime areas since 1 January 2019. 

The COSEC also took advantage of this visit to sensitize the Senegalese on the important changes underway in Senegal, particularly in terms of processing local products and export products. 

The example of the cashew nut was highlighted, to better explain the role of the COSEC which, this year again, put in place with the other state structures, a device to allow to exceed the record of 2018, with more than 30,000 tons of cashew nuts exported. 

COSEC also insisted in its awareness campaign to Senegalese importers in Dubai, so that they are involved in the processing and export of local products. Message seems he received five out of five according to the opinions collected at the end of the visit. 

An explanation has also been used on issues related to local content in hydrocarbons and the expected role of expatriates from Senegal based in the United Arab Emirates.
