Cashew processing and storage: 108 licensed warehouses will be built by a Chinese company

The Warehouse Receipt System (Sre) is gradually entering its operational phase with the signing of a commercial contract yesterday at the eighteenth floor of the Postel 2001 in Plateau, between the Regulatory Authority of the system of receipts. storage (Arre) and the Chinese group Tbea. It involves the construction of 108 modern cashew nut processing and storage warehouses in the country's seven production areas. The overall cost of the project is estimated at 157 billion CFA francs over three years.

On this occasion, the representative of the Minister of Trade, Industry and SME Promotion, Toure Baba, welcomed the "happy ending of this Arre initiative". And the emissary of Minister Souleymane Diarrassouba to give the importance of such a partnership. "The signing of this protocol is a strong act that marks a new era in the marketing of our agricultural products in Côte d'Ivoire". It should therefore be emphasized that this agreement is the culmination of the negotiations that began with the signing of a Framework Agreement between the two structures on June 27 in Changsha, China, during the first economic and Sino-African trade.

As for Justin N'Goran Koffi, CEO of Arre, he said he was pleased to have sealed this strategic partnership with this Chinese company. Because, he will say, the establishment of these warehouses is "a way of guaranteeing the agricultural processing units a supply of raw materials throughout the year, by ensuring a good conservation of these raw materials through appropriate storage in approved warehouses " . He later said that "the funding will flow from a loan from a Chinese bank. And the reimbursement will be made over fifteen years by the levies that will be done on the storage of products. And to Dg de l'Arre to reassure that "the farmer will not pay anything, it is the end buyer who bears these costs of storage".

Zhong Yanmin, chairman and CEO of Tbea, said, "This project is the best incarnation of deepening pragmatic cooperation between the two countries." Before giving any assurances for the implementation of this important project. "We feel a great responsibility and a glorious mission. Tbea will fully utilize its know-how, technologies, advanced equipment and management benefits in the field of infrastructure (...) We guarantee the safety and quality and will achieve the project in the expected time.

In addition to the cashew nut, the ARRE Director General took the opportunity to invite Chinese economic operators to invest in the construction of substandard warehouses in the cocoa and coffee production areas as well as palm oil and rubber. Without ignoring food products and fresh products that require refrigerated warehouses. All this, as part of the Warehouse Receipt System that will help achieve the goal of the Ivorian government. That of achieving, by 2020, a conversion rate of 50% of the national production of cocoa and cashew nuts.
