In line with its ambition to become a pole of reference in the field of the transformation of agricultural products among others, Togo is working to improve the competitiveness of its agri-food companies.
Thus, according to a document from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the country wants to set up a traceability system of pineapple, cashew and shea value chains.
This initiative, which is part of a set of provisions designed to conform Togolese productions to the requirements of certification systems, aims in the long term to boost exports of Togolese agri-food products, particularly in the pineapple, cashew and shea sectors.
The choice to concentrate the establishment of the national traceability system on the three value chains is justified, according to the document consulted, by the fact that Togo has a comparative advantage in exporting the development of these sectors.
To this end, a call for applications for a position of national consultant, specialist in quality infrastructure is launched.
